Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss - Lily-Rose

Ett av mina absoluta favoritgloss är Lily-Rose från Illamasqua. Jag är ju egentligen den som föredrar läppstift i alla lägen, men detta gloss passerar faktiskt godkänt. I tuben är det tårtgelé-rött, men på läpparna blir det en skir godisrosa nyans. Precis lagom pigmenterat för att ge färg, men ändå behålla glosskänslan. Det är lite klistrigt men håller riktigt länge på läpparna så det är ursäktat även där.

One of my favourite glosses ever is Lily-Rose från Illamasqua. I'm usually the one who prefer lipsticks whenever you ask me, but this gloss is really great. In the tube it's a jelly red, but on the lips it turns into a sheer candy pink shade. The perfect amount of pigmentation to give colour but still keep the gloss feeling. It's a bit sticky but it stays very well on the lips so it's excused on that too.

Härom dagen bar jag läppstiftet Impassioned från MAC. Jag köpte det för flera månader sedan men jag hade inte använt det ute förrän nu, jag fick bara för mig att det var alldeles för varmt i färgen och såg fult ut på mig. Sen så gav jag det en ny chans och bara "Wow! Hur snyggt är inte detta?". Vet inte riktigt var allt det där negativa kom från. Nåja.

Det är i min favoritformula (MAC har olika formulas på sina stift, kategoriserade efter finish, täckförmåga och sånt) amplified creme, så det är alltså tjockt, krämigt och välpigmenterat, varken för torrt eller glidigt. Färgen som syns i hylsan är vad man får på läpparna efter bara ett svep med stiftet.

A couple of days ago I wore Impassioned lipstick from MAC. I bought it long ago but haven't worn it out until now, I just decided that it was far too warm and looks ugly on me. Then I gave it a new chance and just "Wow! How hot is that?" I don't really know where all of that negative stuff came from. Oh well.

It's my favourite formula (MAC has some different formulas on their lipsticks, categorised after finish, opacity and stuff) amplified creme, so it's thick, creamy and pigmented, not too dry and not too slippery. The colour you see in the tube is what you get on your lips with only one sweep.

Halloween look - mummy

I lördags firade jag halloween med några vänner, en vecka tidigt, vilket ju är skitbra inspiration för er som inte firat ännu!

Jag körde på en klassisk mumie-look med skulpterad blek hy, lite dammig spindelväv i ansiktet och tusen meter tyg lindat runt kroppen. Jag har tyvärr inte orken/tiden att göra en tutorial på makeupen (jag visade samma makeup här när jag testade den för några dagar sedan, och då var det många som ville se en tutorial), men det är väl egentligen bara såhär jag gjort:

1. Vit flytande foundation blandat med en skvätt av min vanliga foundation i ansiktet.
2. Pudra ansiktet med en vit ögonskugga.
3. Skulptera fram kindben, ögonhålor osv. med svart matt skugga.
4. Lägg till dimension och färg med hjälp av en mörkbrun, lila och senapsgul matt skugga.
5. Damma över solpuder för att ge lite mer "ökenlook".
6. Sätta fast spindelnätet med hårnålar, pudra mängder löspuder över som damm, och sedan lindar du in dig i trasor.

This saturday I celebrated halloween with some friends, a week too early, which is awesome inspiration for you who haven't celebrated yet!

I went for a classic mummy look with a sculpted pale complexion, some dusty spiderwebs on my face and like a thousand metres of cloth wrapped around my body. Sorry but I haven't got the energy/time to sit down and do a tutorial for the makeup (I showed you the same makeup here when I tried it on a couple of days ago, and many of you wanted to see a tutorial) but this is basically what I did:

1. White liquid foundation mixed with a dab of my regular foundation on my face.
2. Powder my face with a white eyeshadow.
3. Sculpt cheekbones, eye sockets and such with a matte black shadow.
4. Add some dimension and colour with a dark brown, purple and mustard yellow matte shadow.
5. Dust some bronzer on for that "desert look".
6. Add the spiderweb with bobby pins, powder loads of loose powder on top as dust, and then wrap yourself up with cloth.

Trasorna är en gammal gardin jag rivit upp och färgat med utspädd hårfärg och kanel för en smutsig look.

The cloth is an old curtain that I ripped up and dyed with diluted hairdye and cinnamon for a dirty look.

Såhär såg naglarna ut. Någon nudefärg (minns inte vilken) med fakeblod målat längs nagelbanden. Blodet är gjort på mjöl, soja och rödbetsspad.

This is how my nails looked. Some nude colour (don't remember which) with fake blood along my cuticles. The blood is made of flour, soy sauce and beetroot juice.

Lite av mitt fantastiska sällskap för kvällen, Emma (jag sminkade henne också!) och Moa.

Jag fortsätter stenhårt på unisex-prep-looken, min absoluta favorit för tillfället. Idag med lite extra glow och ett fantastiskt fint nudefärgat gloss med lite skimmer i från MACs kommande julkollektion. Lagom täckande, lagom glittrigt men lite väl klistrigt för min smak. Men skit samma. Med håret uppe och tålamodet på plats står jag ut.

I'm once again going for the unisex prep look, my absolute favourite at the moment. Today with some extra glow and a fantastic nude gloss with some shimmer from the upcoming MAC holiday collection. Perfect opacity, perfectly enough shimmer but a tad too sticky for my taste. But shit the same. With my hair up and patience going strong I don't care about it.

Känner ni till Veggie Beauty? En söt veganbrud som bloggar och gör YouTube-videos om skönhet. Jag har följt hennes YT-kanal ett bra tag nu, och när hon för ett litet tag sedan drog igång sin egen linje mineralsmink vid namn Pumpkin & Poppy kändes det självklart att testa produkterna. Så här är en liten snabbgenomgång om två produkter ur hennes sortiment.

Först ut kan vi ju nämna looken i helhet. Foundation och ögonskugga är från P&P vilka jag går igenom längre ner i inlägget, medan läppglanset är Viola från Make Up Store (snyggt namn va?) och mascaran Lotus Organic. Basånivet.

Do you know about Veggie Beauty? A sweet vegan chick who blogs and makes YouTube videos about beauty. I've followed her YT channel for a while now, and when she recently started her own line of mineral makeup called Pumpkin & Poppy I didn't think twice before deciding to try her products out. So here's a quick breakdown of two of her products.

First off I can mention the look as a whole. Foundation and eyeshadow are from P&P and will be discussed later in this post, while the lipgloss is Viola from Make Up Store (nice name, huh?) and the mascara is Lotus Organic. Just so you know.

Eyeshadow - Dorian Gray

En skugga från årets halloweenkollektion vid namn Dastardly Deeds, inspirerad av skurkar ur diverse sagor och historier. Dorian Gray är en fantastisk blågrå skugga som gör sig jääättebra ensam på ögonlocket (se bild nedan), den drar väldigt mycket mer åt ljusblått än vad den ser ut att göra i burken, men det var bara till min glädje. Kolla vad fin den är! Du kan köpa den här för ca 30 kr.

A shadow from this years halloween collection called Dastardly Deeds, inspired by villains from different stories. Dorian Gray is a fantastic blue grey shadow that looks amaaaazing worn alone on the lid (look at the pic below), it pulls much more light blue on the skin than in the jar, but it was a happy surprise to me. Just look at it, soo pretty! You can buy it here for $4.75.

Full Coverage Foundation - Rice Paper

Och så förstås - hennes foundation som finns i en ljus neutral nyans. Självklart testar jag den! Jag hade däremot tyvärr inte så tur med den som jag hade hoppats. Den är nämnd som "full coverage" men vill ändå inte riktigt fästa på min torra hy utan går på lite ojämnt och blir lite för torr i vissa områden, trots att jag applicerade den över en fetare ansiktskräm än vanligt. Jag tror att den är betydligt bättre på fetare hy helt enkelt, där mer olja finns att absorbera. Jag ska nog ge mig på att använda den som puder ovanpå flytande foundations istället, då kommer de mattande egenskaperna mer till hands. Är din hy min motsats så kan denna däremot helt klart vara värd ett ögonkast! Den finns i sju olika nyanser. Köpes här för ca 75 kr.

And of course - her foundation that's available in a light neutral shade. Of course I'm testing it! I'm sorry to say that I didn't have as much luck with it as I had hoped. It's mentioned as a "full coverage" foundation but it still won't really attach to my try skin. It went on a bit uneven and got a bit too dry in some areas, even though I applied it over a richer moisturizer than usual. I think that this one suits oilier skin better, where there actually are more oils to absorb. I think I'm gonna give this a chance as a face powder on top of liquid foundations instead, that's where the mattifying effect would be useful for me. If your skin is the opposite to mine I guess this would be worth checking out though! It's available in seven different shades. You can buy it here for $11.25

Före och efter foundation, inga andra produkter applicerade. Den ville som sagt inte fästa riktigt i mitt ansikte, typ näsan var en kritisk punkt, det ville liksom bara inte se bra ut. Om jag bara hade applicerat en concealer innan (vilket jag i testsyfte förstås inte gjorde) så hade slutresultatet kanske sett lite cleanare ut och inte lika flammigt.

Before and after foundation, no other products applied. As I said earlier it didn't really want to stick to my face, my nose was a critical point for example, it just didn't want to look good. If I only had applied a concealer before (which I didn't do because of this test, of course) the end result might have looked a tad cleaner and less blotchy.

Ett av de nyaste i samlingen, och helt klart en ny favorit. Shine från FACE Stockholm är en varmgrå pärla, sådär lagom knäpp-normal. Helt i min smak alltså! För att få bäst effekt krävs det att man blankar ut färgen på läpparna med lite foundation eller liknande innan, annars lyser läppfärgen gärna igenom lite. Kostar 215 kr på FACE.

One of the newest in my collection, and definitely a new favourite. Shine from FACE Stockholm is a lovely warm grey shade, normal bordering crazy, in other words right up my alley! To get the best effect you need to blank out the colour of your lips with some foundation or such, the lip colour tend to shine through a little bit if you don't. Not sure if FACE Stockholm is available internationally, let me know!

Idag plockade jag fram Sugarpill-skuggorna jag visade er igår och testade vad de går för på ögonen. Tok-intensiva är vad de är! Det var helt klart för dålig ljus för att fota nu, men det låtsas vi inte om.

Today I got the Sugarpill shadows I showed you yesterday out and tried them on the eyes. Crazy intense is what they are! The light was definitely too bad to take pictures now, but let's not think about that.

Driven by Love

Dagens unisex-make fick sig en omgång med Pro Longwear Lipgloss från MAC i nyansen Driven by Love, släpptes med Styledriven-kollektionen för en månad sedan. Det finns nog inget vackrare rött gloss tror jag, för det ser verkligen lackat ut, men det är så klistrigt att det nästan är ett skämt. Man får alltså bära det de dagar man har strama frisyrer som inte har en chans att fastna i läpparna, annars är man körd.

Todays unisex make got pimped up with Pro Longwear Lipgloss from MAC in the shade Driven by Love, released with the Styledriven collection last month. I don't think there is a prettier red gloss, because it really looks lacquered, but it's so sticky it's almost a joke. You'll have to make sure to wear it days when you have very sleek hair that has no chance sticking to the lips, if not, you're frickin' done.

That celebrity glow

Idag ser jag ut såhär! En enkel eyelinervinge, ljusrosa läppar och en klassisk celeb-glowig hy. Jobbar nämligen på en bronzer/rouge/highlighter-guide till SOLO 12 som kommer ut i december, håll ögonen öppna om ni är nyfis på hur det går till.

This is how I look today! A simple winged eyeliner, light pink lips and a classic celibrity glowy skin. I'm working on a bronzer/blush/highlighter guide for SOLO 12 that's comes out in December.

Illamasquas höstkollektion Theatre of the Nameless har jag tjatat mer än nog om, men jag måste bara göra det en gång till.. Jag har redan visat er den oxblodsröda eyelinern Havoc (även om bilderna sög), men här är det absoluta guldkornet, läppstiftet Kontrol. Kostar £15.50 (ca 170 kr) på Illamasqua.com.

Det glider som smör på läpparna utan att vara kladdigt, och likt Illamasquas läppstift i övrigt är pigmenteringen top notch. Inget gnuggande fram och tillbaka eller bråk med flammigt resultat vilket ofta hör ihop med mörka stift. Nej, applicera med pensel så ser det alldeles perfekt ut. Jag själv applicerade direkt från stiftet, och även om jag uppenbarligen klarade mig såhär så hade det helt klart varit snyggare. Jag har inte heller burit det länge nog för att kunna avgöra om det blöder ut i läppkonturen eller inte, så för att vara helt safe skulle jag nog tipsa om att använda en läppenna under, även om jag själv inte lär orka. Illamasqua brukar vara bra på det där med läppstift, så jag är inte särskilt orolig.

Nyansen är åt det kallare hållet med en askig ton över det hela. "blå-violett" som Illamasqua själva säger. Nedtonat men en riktig attention whore, bästa mixen! Än fast den är helt knäpp så skulle jag inte ha något som helst problem med att gå ut såhär till vardags. Nyansen känns faktiskt förvånansvärt lättburen.

It glides like butter in the lips without being greasy, and like Illamasquas lipsticks overall the pigmentation is top notch. No rubbing back and forth or uneven applications which dark lipsticks often go hand in hand with. No, apply it with a brush and it'll look awesome. I applied it directly from the tube, and even though I obviously made it through it definitely would have looked better that way. I haven't worn it long enough to tell if it bleeds into the fine lines around the lips during the day or not, so to be completely safe I would advice you to wear it with a lip liner. Even though I probably won't do it myself. Illamasqua are awesome at lipsticks, so I'm not too worried.

The shade leans toward a cool purple, with an ashy tone over it. "blue violet" as the Illamasqua site says. Toned down but a true attention whore, the best mix ever! Even though it looks nuts in a way I would have no problem at all going out with this on as an everyday look. A comfortable shade, believe it or not!

Some everyday makeup + a small update on my life

Hejhejhej! Tänkte att det kanske var dags att uppdatera er på riktigt nu. Har just flyttat diagonalt genom landet (vilket har gått förvånansvärt bra överlag) och just nu surar jag över det faktum att min kamera blev stulen på tåget. Kuligt. Så i väntan på beställningen av en ny systemkamera (blää, fast yay!) fotar jag med en liten kompaktkamera, ni får helt enkelt hålla ut ett litet tag. Vet knappt om det är värt att försöka dokumentera smink i nuläget, men såhär ser jag ju exempelvis ut om ni redan glömt bort mitt plyte.

Hi there! I think it's about time to update you for real now. I just moved diagonally through Sweden a week ago (which went on surprisingly well) and at the moment I'm quite bitter over the fact that my camera was stolen on the train. Sigh. So while I'm waiting on a new camera to arrive (aarghh, but yay!) I'm taking my pictures with a small compact camera, you'll have to excuse me for a couple of days. I don't know if it's worth documenting makeup at the moment, but this is how I look for example, in case you've forgotten. Haha.

5 minute smokey

Idag gick sminket fånigt fort, fem minuter på sin höjd. Som många av er vet så håller jag på att flytta just nu och allt mitt smink ligger i flyttlådor (därav min dåliga uppdatering, förlåt!) och jag lämnade bara några få sminkprodukter i min vardagsnecessär för nödsmink. Så minimala mängder att jag glömt brynprodukter, vad höll jag på med? Naturliga bryn fick det bli idag med andra ord.

Så, här är alltså vad jag svängde ihop typ helt utan produkter och verktyg. Hahah. En skitsnabb "sotad" look som verkligen bara är några tjocka kajalstreck runt och i ögat, slarvigt utsuddat med ett finger och några tjocka lager mascara på. Rosa kinder och mitt absoluta favoritläppstift just nu. Så enkelt blev det, och se, det fungerar ju det med!

Today I applied my makeup in no time at all. Like, five minutes at most. As many of you know I'm moving at the moment so all of my makeup is packed into boxes (that's why I'm so bad at posting right now, sorry!) and I only left a few makeup products in my everyday toilet bag for emergency makeup. Amounts so minimal that I completely forgot eyebrow products, what was I thinking? In other words, today there had to be natural brows.

So here's what I got together kind of without either makeup or brushes. Hahaha. A mega simple "smokey" eye that seriously just is a couple of thick eyeliner lines smudged with a finger and a couple of layers of mascara. Pink cheeks and my absolute favourite lipstick right now. That's how easy it can be done, and look, it works!
